HUB-BUB presents the "From Here to Awesome" Showcase Film Festival every Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., starting August 7 and ending October 2.
Each week another short and feature length film will be screened and the public is invited to attend these FREE showings. Independent films competed to be one of the select films shown at theaters and other venues like The Showroom worldwide. For updates and more insight check out this blog. "From Here to Awesome" is the brainchild of Arin Crumley, a filmmaker who did a three-week residency at HUB-BUB in May 2008. *17 and over admitted.
FEATURE~Damage Done: When Elliot comes to the aid of a beautiful hitchhiker named Andrea while traveling on the open road, he is drawn into a world of drugs and deceit his quiet Middle American background never prepared him for. As a relationship develops between the two loners, Elliot becomes convinced that he can give Andrea a good life that will lift her up from the throes of heroin abuse and criminal activity. Ultimately, it is the deep wounds of his own past that prove to be the greatest obstacle in his quest to save his damaged love.
SHORT~Fragments: A man begins to recall a repressed memory from his past, but in a fractured and nonsensical form. This film explores the unsettling images that come to him as he discovers what in his past was so terrible that he initially drove it from his mind.
